Flakey

So it’s been a week since I last posted about my brother’s departure and guess what, he’s already on his way back tomorrow. Apparently him and my mom were talking on the phone last Monday and he told her that he already bought a ticket to come back home and the flight is this coming Monday. So yeah, after all the talk about moving in with his girlfriend and what not and here he is already coming back after a week. Why the sudden change in plans, we have no idea and chances are when he arrives we won’t even get the full story of it… oh well.

On an unrelated note, my friends and I have been watching some asian movies again namely Arang, To Sir with Love, and Dog Bite Dog. Both Arang and To Sir with Love are suspense thriller/horror Korean movies and Dog Bite Dog is an action Chinese movie.

Arang is a story about the mysterious death of 4 people. The thing is these 4 people all new each other and they all received an email, a link to a website of this one dead girl. As the movie rolls along we find out that this the deaths aren’t actually caused by a ghost but were actually done by someone related to the dead girl. Also the way the story turned out was done really well with that plot twist that you’d never even think about. One of the best movies from Korea I’ve seen in a while under this genre, then again most of the movies from Korea under this genre are pretty good.

To Sir with Love has nothing to do with the old American movie bearing the same title. The story of the movie is kinda played backwards since it’s being told by a survivor of gruesome masacre. On a reunion of classmates seeing their aged teacher, each died one after the other seemingly killed out of revenge. I won’t spoil the story any more since it’s another movie with a really unexpected plot twist that you wouldn’t even see from a mile away. Again another good movie from Korea.

Dog Bite Dog though is rather a disappointing movie, after I watched it I ended up being pissed off. Here I’ll spoil it for you so you wouldn’t have to waste time watching it. Police are investigating a murder which was done by a hired gun. As the police pursue the hitman, each officer on the team ends up getting killed one after the other. In the end the hitman managed to go back to his country along with a girl he picked up after taking pity on her, she ends up being his wife btw. The surviving police officer follows him there to have his revenge for killing all his co-officers. They ended up killing each other, and the girl who was pregnant at the time and most likely the baby which the hitman took out of his dead wife’s belly after she died. It’s a case of every one dies tragedy, one that the Chinese are so good at making, like they hate the world and happy endings or something. Pisses me off so bad, that and there were a lot of stupid moments in the movie too.

So that’s it so far, right now I have my Castlevania to worry about and my idiot brother coming back. Hopefully he learned his lesson this time and hopefully it prompts him to actually do something about his life. Well time can only tell if he does change, until then I guess…
